The Australia Institute Tasmania

Established in 2017, the Australia Institute’s Tasmanian office contributes to the state’s public debate through research, stakeholder engagement, policy development, events, and public education.

With a particular focus on democracy and accountability, marine governance, climate, environmental and economic policy areas, the Australia Institute’s Tasmanian office enhances the local impact of one of the nation’s most influential public policy think tanks.

From reforming Tasmania’s state tax system and electoral laws to analysing the economics of the cable car proposal for kunanyi/Mt Wellington and keeping our oceans healthy, the Australia Institute Tasmania is committed to publishing research that matters, and improving policy outcomes for all Tasmanians.
