Andrew Leigh MP discusses his new book Battlers & Billionaires: the story of inequality in Australia. Andrew poses the questions ‘how fair is Australia really?’ and ‘why does inequity matter?’. He explores these questions through weaving together anecdotes, history and statistics. Andrew discusses that while inequality can fuel growth, it also poses dangers to society. Too much inequality risks cleaving us into two Australias, occupying fundamentally separate worlds, with little contact between the haves and the have-nots.
