Fossil Fuel Subsidies
Ending fossil fuel subsidies should be the first order for any government serious about fairness and climate action. These subsidies cost Australians $14.5 billion in 2023-24, more than the nation spends on the army or the air force. Not only do these subsidies reduce government’s ability to fund services, but they make polluting fuels cheaper
