Jon Altman is an emeritus professor at the School of Regulation and Global Governance at the ANU. From 1990–2010 he was foundation director of the Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research. Trained as an economist and anthropologist, he has published widely on Indigenous economic development, is a prominent commentator on Indigenous public policy debates, and is engaged as non-executive director of several companies in the not-for-profit sector including the Karrkad-Kanjdji Trust, the Institute of Postcolonial Studies, Original Power and the Arena Foundation.
