Indi supports renewable energy: Poll

Share

Polling has been released which shows that more than four in five voters in the federal electorate of Indi support Australia gradually transitioning to 100% renewable energy by 2030.

“There is overwhelming support for renewable energy across the political spectrum in Indi. 85% of voters are in support of renewables, with only 9% against,” Strategist at The Australia Institute, Dan Cass said.

“Even the lowest level of support, which is 67% of National Party voters, is a considerable majority within that segment. Indi has very high uptake of rooftop solar by households and also grassroots initiatives such as Totally Renewable Yackandandah driving the change from below.

“This polling suggests that there is strong community support for renewables and significant political opportunity for those vying to represent the people of Indi,” said Mr Cass.
