OzHarvest Founding Director Ronni Khan: From rescuing food to rescuing the planet.
OzHarvest is a not-for-profit organisation that rescues surplus food from restaurants and other food outlets to feed communities at risk. Ronni’s previous experience in the hospitality industry led her to question where excess food in the food and beverage industry ended up. This inspired her to start OzHarvest, which now collects over five tonnes of food every day, in Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide and Newcastle.
Ronni explores the sources of food waste, the challenges of tackling this problem and the solutions as well as her journey from business entrepreneur to social entrepreneur.
