Glenn Connley
Glenn Connley is the Senior Media Advisor at The Australia Institute.
Glenn Connley joined The Australia Institute after two years as Canberra Bureau Chief at Sky News Australia, based in Parliament House. An award-winning journalist and author, Glenn has run newsrooms and led news teams across Australia and South East Asia for more than two decades. His career includes senior roles at Channel 7, Channel 9, 3AW and the Herald Sun.
Between 2006 and 2013, Glenn was based in Singapore, where he was Executive Producer and Presenter at global sports networks ESPN and The Football Channel. In between, he worked as a golf commentator, a CNN blogger, a live cricket producer and was even briefly a judge on the Indian reality TV program, Dream Job.
Glenn was live on air for several hours during the 2014 Lindt Cafe Siege. He covered the disappearance of MH370 from Kuala Lumpur, the 2004/5 Asian Tsunami out of Thailand and the start of the Gulf War in 2003 from Washington DC. In 2022, he was nominated for a Kennedy Award for Outstanding Team Player or Mentor.
