Ipshita Pratap

Anne Kantor Fellow

Ipshita Pratap is an Anne Kantor Young Women Environmentalist Fellow at the Australia Institute Tasmania.

Ipshita holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Bioscience from the University of Tasmania (UTAS). Ipshita was awarded an Undergraduate Research Traineeship with the Responsible Innovation Future Science Platform at CSIRO, where she contributed to a pioneering study on modeling public responses to global health challenges.

Ipshita was appointed as a Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Youth Advisor to the Federal Minister for Youth, the Department of Health and Aged Care, the National Mental Health Commission (NMHC) and the National Suicide Prevention Office (NSPO). She is also a nipaluna based Vocalist and Ukulele player specialising in Indian semi-classical music.

Ipshita has been instrumental in establishing a youth engagement policy framework during her internship with the Youth Network of Tasmania. Ipshita received the UTAS Vice-Chancellor’s Global Leadership Award in 2022 and was a finalist for the 2023 Study Tasmania International Student of the Year Award for her contributions to youth engagement, outreach, and wellbeing.

Ipshita hopes the Fellowship will prepare her for a dynamic career at the intersection of science, health, policy, and advocacy.
