Coalition voters asked about energy policy, Adani subsidies
ReachTEL polling for The Australia Institute of Dickson, the seat held by Peter Dutton, has shown strong support for Labor’s renewable energy target and opposition to government backing of the Adani coal mine.

When asked where government subsidies in energy should go, renewable projects had the highest support, followed by battery and storage projects, with coal and gas the least popular options. (results below)
“This is a Coalition seat, in Queensland, and the opposition to subsidising Adani is strong across all age groups and political parties,” Executive Director of The Australia Institute, Ben Oquist said.
“Across a range of issues in the energy debate, one thing is clear to the Australian people – renewables, rather than coal, are the future.
“Those calling for the financial backing for Adani and other coal projects, are not only out of touch with economic reality and global trends, but also with the views of voters,” Oquist said.
