The Australia Institute made a submission to the NSW Independent Planning Commission on the Tahmoor South Coal Project.
The mine should not be approved. The economic case for the Tahmoor project has been heavily overstated by its consultants and the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment. Methods relied on have been described in the NSW Land and Environment Court as “inflated”, “incorrect” and “plainly wrong”.
